Lorenzo Maqced, pseudonym of Lorenzo Marroni, was born in Città di Castello on 6 May 1993. He studied at the Pietro Vannucci Academy of Fine Arts, and currently lives and works in Perugia. His practice focuses on popular heritage, exploring spaces and figures through visual architectures that metaphorically reflect man’s relationship with the outside. His painting is characterized by backgrounds that implement friendships and in-friendship, that are brushed and rejected, as the themes brought to attention. The time before the painting is always preceded by a portion dedicated to the research and assembly of images, whether they are personal or extrapolated from the popular memory of the world wide web. The steps move through reconstructed scenarios that only later constitute a grammar. He has a residency in Pottery North West, Seattle, USA, (2019). He is co-founder of the Artist Run Space Ma project, Perugia. Winner: "DE POI AWARD" (2019), Alfredo De Poi Award (2016). He has participated in solo and group exhibitions: Abele, Blue Gallery, Venezia, IT (2024), Qualche storta sillaba, Ma project, Perugia, IT (2023), Flocking Birds, Ma project, Perugia, IT (2022), Nel Frattempo 2, Valeggio sul Mincio, Verona, IT, (2022), Childhood as object of consumption, Ma project, Perugia,(2022) IT, Opening, Ma project, Perugia, IT, (2021), Sanctuary House, Seattle, USA, (2019), Asilus, Civitella D'arna, Perugia, IT,(2019), Vento, Temporary Accademy13, Perugia, IT, (2018).
